# First Article Inspection

At the start of every run on a CoreForge machining center, the operator measures the first part before production continues. Until now, someone had to remember to start each check. This one is issued by Kanoa as soon as a machine enters **Production** mode.

The machines make three part families: coupling pins (10 mm diameter), precision rods (15 mm) and shaft cores (25 mm). One `Diameter` check item has to apply the right tolerance for whichever part is running. Item sets and attributes make that possible:

**Running item → item set → attribute tolerance → pass, warning or fail**

In this section you will:

- Group the machined parts into item sets and give each set its own diameter tolerance.
- Enable quality triggers on the machines and build the `Machining - First Article Inspection` check sheet.
- Trigger the inspection from a production run, and show it to operators with a notifications dashboard.
- Analyze on-time completion with the Check Summary.
