Adjust Stock and Find Reorders

Correct stock after a count

A cycle count finds only 2 coolant filters on the shelf where Kanoa expects 12.

  1. Expand CF-FLT-COOL10 and add a part transaction: Parts Room, quantity 10, type Negative adjustment, notes Cycle count.
  2. Review the transaction history: the receipt and the adjustment are both there, with who recorded each one.

Corrections are always new transactions, never edits, so the history explains every change to the balance.

Reference Materials: Transfers and Adjustments

Transfers and Adjustments

A transfer moves stock from one inventory location to another. Use Transfer in and Transfer out transaction types to record the movement at each end.

If a physical count reveals a discrepancy, use a Positive adjustment or Negative adjustment transaction type to correct the on-hand balance. The transaction history records who made the adjustment and when.

Both operations use Add Part Transaction in the UI or addInventoryTransaction via script with the appropriate transaction type.

Review stock and find reorders
  1. Expand each part and review its stock position: On Hand, Reserved, On Order, Available, and its policy limits.

  2. CF-FLT-COOL10 now has 2 on hand, below its reorder point of 6 and its minimum of 4. Its reorder quantity says to order 12.

  3. In the Script Console, list every stocked part below its reorder point in the Parts Room:

    storeroomId = system.kanoa.utilities.getFieldValue('assetId',
    system.kanoa.asset.getAssets({'assetPath': 'CoreForge\\Philadelphia\\Storage\\Parts Room'}))
    data = system.kanoa.inventory.getPartInventoryStock({
    'inventoryAssetId': storeroomId,
    'isStocked': True,
    'isBelowReorderThreshold': True,
    })
    for row in system.kanoa.utilities.convertDatasetToJSON(data):
    print row['partNumber'], row['quantityOnHand']

Available is on hand minus reserved: stock already promised to open work orders isn't really free to use.

Finding Parts Below Reorder Threshold

data = system.kanoa.inventory.getPartInventoryStock({
'inventoryAssetId': warehouseAssetId,
