Coating Line SPC
Use these questions to prepare for the Kanoa Quality certification exam.
Why point a check item at an attribute instead of a tag path?
The attribute's data sources map it to a different tag for each asset, so one check sheet design works on every line and its builders don't need tag paths. See Attributes for Tag Data.
What does an Auto check sheet need to complete itself?
Asset Required, and an attribute with an enabled data source for that asset on every required check item. See Automatic Checks on a Timer.
Timed checks aren't appearing. What do you check first?
The [Kanoa]kanoa/timers/qdsIntervalTimer tag. Then check that the sheet is released, the trigger is enabled, and the data sources are enabled. See Automatic Checks on a Timer.
What's the difference between specification limits and control limits?
Spec limits come from product or customer requirements and say whether the product is acceptable. Control limits are calculated from the process data and say whether the process is stable. See Coating Line SPC.
A Check Details cell is highlighted, but the value is within spec. Is that an error?
No. It marks a possible SPC rule violation, such as a trend, not a spec failure. See Analyze SPC Data with Check Details.
Which screen do you use for each question: "was this check done right?", "were checks done on time?", "is the process stable?"
Check Table, Check Summary and Check Details. See Analyze SPC Data with Check Details.
