Maintenance Setup
Use these questions to prepare for the Kanoa Maintenance certification exam.
What's the difference between a maintenance type and a work type?
A maintenance type, such as Preventive, classifies the work order. A work type, such as Lubrication, classifies one technician's labor on it, so one work order can have several. See Lookups and Technicians.
Why do work order statuses belong to categories?
So several statuses can count as the same thing, such as closed or waiting, and the backlog and KPIs still work when you add your own statuses. See Lookups and Technicians.
What's the difference between a procedure step and a check?
A step is a major phase of the job with an estimated time. A check is one task within a step, with a data type for recording the result. See Write a Procedure.
How does a procedure reach a technician?
It's attached to a work order template, and every work order generated from that template carries it. See Write a Procedure.
